Extend North was created to offer a different way.
We help couples and small groups discover remarkable places through carefully curated, car-free countryside holidays that include accommodation, private transport, local knowledge and personalised experiences.

Hello, I’m Sam
Originally from Essex, my wife and I moved to the Yorkshire Dales in 2021 after years of visiting the area on holidays and weekend escapes.
Like many people who discover this remarkable corner of England, we fell in love with it. After years of visiting the area together, we eventually made the decision to call the Yorkshire Dales home.
Today, we're fortunate enough to live in beautiful Wensleydale, surrounded by the landscapes, villages and countryside that first drew us here.

The idea behind Extend North
The inspiration for Extend North came during a conversation with my teenage son. We were standing together looking out across one of the stunning Yorkshire Dales landscapes when I said: "You're lucky. Some people never get to see places like this."
The more I thought about it, the more it stayed with me. There are countless people who would love places like the Yorkshire Dales if only there were a simple way to experience them.
Many visitors don't want to spend their holiday driving unfamiliar roads, navigating transport connections or following a fixed group tour. They want the freedom to explore at their own pace, enjoy the scenery, and leave the driving to someone else.
After all, most people travelling through one of Britain's most beautiful landscapes would rather be looking out of the window than concentrating on directions, parking, or whether there's a sheep around the next corner.
That's what Extend North is all about.
